The human brain is made up of about 86 billion nerve cells, about 86 billion glial cells (which are like the glue that holds the brain together), and about 10 to 15 trillion connections between these two types of cells. Each neuron has an estimated 100,000 connections with other neurons. Beyond this, there are about 10 times as many glial cells as neurons.
